‘JESUS IS COMING BACK’ — DETROIT PISTONS’ JADEN IVEY’S POSTGAME MESSAGE
After leading the Detroit Pistons to victory over the Brooklyn Nets with an impressive 34-point performance, rising star Jaden Ivey emphasized the importance of his faith in a recent post-game interview.
The 22-year-old point guard credited his success to Jesus Christ, stating, “I give all the glory to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for giving me these gifts.” Ivey expressed his commitment to trusting God to enhance his skills, saying, “I sow the seed every day and just continue to trust God . . . to grow my game.”
Before concluding the press conference, Ivey shared a message of hope, quoting John 14:6 and encouraging others to embrace their faith. “I just want to say that Jesus is the way, the truth, the life,” he stated. “And to any of the world that’s hearing this message, the kingdom of Heaven is near. Jesus is coming back, and we all have to repent for our sins and put our faith in Jesus.”
This public declaration of faith is not new for Ivey, as he has consistently acknowledged God’s role in his life and career in previous interviews and press conferences. Other young athletes, such as Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs and New Orleans Saints player Demario Davis, have also openly shared their faith experiences in the sports world.
