RUSSIA TAGS ‘LGBT MOVEMENT’ AS EXTREMIST AND TERRORIST

Russia has designated the “LGBT movement” as an extremist and terrorist organization, following a ruling by the Supreme Court. The list of extremist and terrorist organizations is maintained by Rosfinmonitoring, an agency with the power to freeze bank accounts. It includes over 14,000 individuals and entities, ranging from Al Qaeda to Meta and associates of Alexei Navalny.

Over the past decade, Russia has implemented stricter restrictions on sexual orientation and gender identity, including laws against promoting “non-traditional” sexual relations and prohibiting legal or medical gender changes. These actions align with President Putin’s emphasis on family values and his portrayal of Western attitudes as decadent.
