WOULD YOU JUST DO SOMETHING? | GNOMIC Motivation

Ferruccio Lamborghini, a successful tractor manufacturer, was unhappy with his Ferrari. He thought the car’s clutch broke too easily and decided to share this with the car’s manufacturer along with ideas about how it could be make it better.

Enzo Ferrari however had a hard time accepting criticism. Instead of listening to Ferrucio’s proposal, he rejected them straight away saying the now-famous words, “Let me make cars. You stick to making tractors.” Ferruccio drove home that day furious and disappointed. Instead of being well received for his ideas, he had been rejected in the worst possible way. He was also an engineer. His tractors were the best in Italy.

On the way home, he made a fateful decision. He would also build sports cars. And they would be faster and better than Enzo Ferrari’s. Lamborghini, as we know it today, was born.

“Would you do something?”

In today’s video, we hear Keion Henderson build on this story to encourage us to “do something”. Lamborghini saw a problem and sought out to fix it. His meeting with Ferrari did not go as planned and that did not deter him. His determination gave birth to the luxurious car brand we know today.

“Don’t waste time trying to convince people about your destiny… Do something”.
